The miniaturization of audio parts makes ANCOR possible

Technological breakthroughs in microphones, loudspeakers and other application fields for recalm's free field ANC technology.

Until a few years ago, microphones and speakers were large and could not be mounted in vehicles. With the invention of MEMS sensors and exciter loudspeakers, microphones and loudspeakers have become smaller and can now be placed in seats and passenger cells.

MEMS microphones or “mic chips” are pressure-sensitive diaphragms etched into a silicon wafer via MEMS (micro electromechanical systems) processing.

Exciters are small loudspeakers without a frame or cone.

Consumer Insights

1. Users are enthusiastic about noise canceling in headphones and want to enjoy this technology elsewhere, too.

2. Off-highway machine customers demand the same audio experience as in passenger cars (“why can't my 500k machine have the same smooth entertainment setup as my 25k car?”).

3. Automotive is all about personalized audio zones, whereby loudspeakers and microphones are integrated into the headrest - ideal conditions for ANC solutions.
